Hello parents! The mission trip is almost over and it is all very sad. I´ve had an amazing time and don´t want to leave. OH, and by the way, I´ve decided to go to college at harding and study to be a missionary. It´s really quite perfect...I was going to be a nun, but you know they´re Catholic. On a lighter note, I´ve eaten so much trail mix and granola bars it isn´t even funny, but it just goes to show how much I love fruit bcause i´m still not sick of it. Did you know that there´s lightningbugs down here? And that there´s been a few cold days in July? When I get back to the states I´ll let you read my journal because I´ve been doing that faithfully and it would be a lot to tell. Tomorrow we are going to the retreat which is the remaining time at a 5 star hotel. Anyway, I´ll see ya´ll later! Thanks for all the emails. Love and miss you! To Katie:Thanks for the note and I´m so jealous about Half Blood Prince.

Dad and Patty - Holas, Mis Padres. As you can tell I am still alive and well. We are having an awesome time and are ready for our retreat. I will call you as soon as we get to camp. Continue to pray for us and everything should be good. I can´t wait to tell you all about it. I love you and tell everyone I said hi.
Woodland Hills - Our trip is about at an end, but we still have camp, which compared to this should be a breeze. I thank you all for your prayer and support and cannot wait until I can give you all the information I can remember, but I donn´t see how anyone could ever forget something like this. Thanks again and I will see you soon.
Laura - I love you, Baby. I can´t wait until I can see you at camp. We visited a school for the blind today and I will tell you all about it when I see you. This will be my last time to write, so treasure this. Don´t bother writing back because I probably won´t receive it. Be sure to pack your Adelphe shirt because all of the girls will be wearing them on one of the nights. I love you and miss you. Love, Jack.

Hola! (That means hello! Jus Kidding) Well today is Thursday - 3 more days left. Yesterday we had a carnival after VBS. Meleia and I were in charge of the popcorn and right next to us Jack and Katie were in charge of the cotton candy machine. I got to do the cotton candy every once and a while. It was so much fun. It was really insane though. It was like everytime we had enough popcorn we ran out of cotton candy, and vice-versa. By the end of the carnival all four of us were covered in cotton candy residue. But the most amazing thing was that the children were keeping the bags of popcorn not for themselves, but for their families because they needed the food. Today was a very relaxing break. We went shopping for 2 hours then went to a church and sang our praises. My favorite event of the day was visiting the school for the blind. The children were singing and we sang and played with them for an hour. Then a boy named Samuel prayed and spoke to us through a translator. He told us to keep them in our prayers and how glad they were to have us there for that day and he thanked God for us. I was almost in tears. Meleia played with a little girl named Sandra. She was as cute as a button. Anyway, this is my last chance to write, so thank yall for keeping us in your prayers and I will see you soon. Joey - Tell my family that I love them and whoever gets this tell Joey to check it for me please. I love you all very much, Mallorie.

So it´s the last night at the missions house and emotion overcomes me. Saddness because it´s almost time to leave this beautiful country and all its tender kind hearted people. Joy too overcomes me to see you all so very soon. This trip has been one of the greatest things I´ve experienced so far. The amound of work we did for the Lord with no distractions is unbeliveable. I truly feel like we´ve stepped out of the ¨world¨ like God told us to do. Seeing the smiles on the children´s faces as they recieve toys and hugs, also the smiles on the adults as they receive food, clothing, and medical help as well as smiles when we tend to their children, Everyday brought forth a different task, adventrue, calling, and thats what has made it so unique. I wish that i could stay here many more sun ups and sun downs. Today we painted houses and played with children, The day was marvelous. Yesterday I returned from Chouluteca, a trip which was awesome as well. We made more food boxes and went through individual clothing to be given away. The days have been full. As the rain pours down. God replenishes the Earth just as he does each day we are blessed with. Our attitudes have changed and we feel fortunate and blessed to have awhat we do. I do believe we will all come back changed people. As the evening winds down adn we begin to pack all the memories of ¨where we saw Jesus´´ each day passes through our minds. We should have feeling like we´ve made an impact on the country of Honduras. I do want to thank y ou all for making this trip possible. I´ve been blessed for all the people of woodland Hills and my family. rest assured, Lord willing, I will return soon. SHOUT OUTS- David, Best friend, miss you thanks for the emails, c you at the air-port. Kaitlin -- Miss you chick. Dont forget my camp stuff and ben harper tix. katie hillis - thanks for my email. donna and regina same to you. mom - i miss you so much . i love you and wil call you when i get to the states! EVERYONE -- I miss you all! I love you all! Pray for us please! Because of a cross. Andrea

Keep us in your prayers. You are in my prayers every day.

Hey everybody! I hope everyone is doing well. I miss everyone so much. Yesterday and today were hard emotionally and physically. Yesterday we went to a little village to hand out boxes of food we had made the day before. The poverty was unbelievable. There were ¨house¨ made out of plastic, scrap wood, and scrap metal, and were the size of average bedroom. We went into one of the homes and the family had just lost their baby. It was heart breaking. No one in the house had a dry eye. We prayed with the mother, and since my spanish suffers, all I could do was hug her. After passing out the food we went back to the Valley of Angels to finish up VBS. It was the last day and we had a carnival. Mallorie Hutten and I were in charge of making the popcorn. Kids were swarming us for two straigh hours. Today the Woodland Hills group split up all over the place. Erika, Andrea, and Katie went to paint a house that was built yesterday and Noto and Matt went to the orphanage we are going to tomorrow to finish up the fortress of the playground they are building. Everyone else spent the day at a blind school. The kids were amazing. They sang to us and AGAIN everyone was fighting back tears. (Guys too!) Tomorrow our retreat starts after the day at the orphanage. This is my last time to write. We are sad to leave, but excited about church camp. Everyone is sooooo worn out so the retreat is welcomed.
Love everyone, Meleia.
Katie Hillis- Thanks for the email. It was great to hear from you.
All those who I will see at Church Camp, I cant wait.
Kaitlin-I miss you and cant wait to see ya at camp.

How is it going? I am exhausted. I worked my butt off today. Me and about six other guys went to this orphange and we are building a huge playground for these kids. We are building it from scratch. We just had a huge pile of wood with some nails. Matt Mitchell was with me. Everything is going good and I am just real tired, But I will live. I got your letter today and it made me smile. I hope all is well and I miss you guys. Tell Matt I cant wait to see him at Camp. Love, Noto

Hey everybody!
Things are going great here. We are worn out, but still working hard. Tonight we get to head over to Baskin Robbins. It is amazing how there are things that you take for granted at home and they become great treasures here. All of the kids are healthy (even Neil) Everything is set up for the 7th of August. Ross will do his end of summer presentation that night and then immediately following we will all meet in the life center for a slide show, food, and presentations by the teens. All are invited.

To all my Family- I love you guys and miss you all.

Katie Hillis and Jenny Mitchell- Even if they dont say it, your brothers really do miss you.

Drake- Keep it real!!!!!!!!!!!! You better still be going to Church Camp.

Samantha Seward- I hope David got it all worked out with your email address. See you at Camp.

Caroline Dodson- They could use your sign language down here. Meleia says hello! Take care.

Janet- Meleia wants me to tell you hello and she cant wait to show you her pictures.

Mary- I know the office isnt the same without my presence (haha) Maybe some good work is getting done. Go easy on Bobby........You know how those Ohio folks are.

Bobby- UHHH pretend I didnt just talk about you above and know that I am looking forward to our return and some local evangelism.

Suzanne- I cannot believe that you arent on this trip. Next year, Lord Willing, you are here! Love you so much!

Everyone who is sending emails...........We are all appreciating them. It is a great feeling and really encouraging to get them. I just want everyone to know that if you plan to email it would be a good idea to do so no later than Thursday. We leave for our retreat on Friday and I just would hate for someone to write an email and then never get it so if its written by Thursday then it should not be a problem. Thanks again.

Hello All! How is everybody doing? I just wanted to give an update on whats been going on since last time I wrote. Monday I dug holes for a house, moved timber, and painted a yellow and pink school. Today I went and helped with VBS. They performed short skits and did a puppet show and sang songs in spanish. I got to jump rope with some of the kids also. Katie Waller and Jack Lipsey jumped with me too. I just ate dinner and we are about to go to Baskin Robbins for dessert. I miss everyone so much.

Joey- Did you tell everyone hello for me? You know that you can write me back. I get one more chance to email after this one. I love you! Just five short days and then I get to see your smiling face. You have to tell them I said hello because I dont know if they get this or not. Thanks doll.
I cant wait to see all of you. I need to tell my stories. I am having such a great time. I love you all.

Hello Everybody! Things here get more amazing each day! I miss everyone so much! Cant wait to get back to Woodland Hills.

David- Thank you so much for the email. It definitely put a smile on my face. I meant what I said that day. You are definitely too cool for school.

Ma- It was definitely a bright idea to send me bad news. This is truly not the time or the place, but its okay I needed to know I guess. After being here I am learning to accept what comes my way. As long as I am in College in the fall, I will make due with what I can get. I have learned to trust in what I need to survive will be provided and everything else is above us.

Mammaw and Papaw- I am going to do all that I can to be there second semester. I know there is only a limited amount of time and I dont want to miss out. You guys are very important to me and I want to have no regrets when I look back. I want to know I was there and that I was able to enjoy the good times spent with you both. I love you guys.

Ma (again) - Tell Trisha I would love to stay on at Hammer, but I wont be able to afford it unless I get fat hours and make more that I have been. I am not trying to be demanding, but I am being realistic. If I need to get another job instead I can. I dont think I can work two jobs and go to school first semester. Due to the sudden change in my plans, I will not be able to start back until August 14th so you can let her know. Tell her Imiss her and love her.

Kaitlin- I love you and miss you.

Ma (for the third time) - Tell Gabe and Josh that I send my love. I dont know how on earth it can be quite around there if Cammi and those boys are in the house. Tell Cammi I love him and daddy too. Tell Buba, M.D. and Eric I love them also. I miss you all and love you...................
Call Memphis and see what needs to be done. I love you and cant wait to see you.

Drakeums- Hello dearest Drake! I really miss you. I know things werent great between us when I left, but I want you to know that I love you and I am sorry I acted Shady about the Gabe thing. You mean so much to me and I know its only because you care. Can we be best friends again? Tell lil Pat the same for me. I care so much about him and I am sorry. I really love him and I really love you. Its not worth it to sweat the small stuff the picture is so much bigger. Lets let go and not throw away everything. I love you boys.

Woodland Hills- Words cannot express how grateful I am for the opportunity to be here. Today some of us went to a special needs orphanage. It broke my heart there is no other way to say it. We blew bubbles, handed out toys, and sang crazy songs with the kids. After that we ended the day on a lighter note. We did an outside VBS for 100 kids. This is what we all door knocked for yesterday and not just regular door knocking. This was climbing a mountain on a dirt road going from door to door. We were all lucky enough to see Neil Hillis and his acting talents once more. They expect the number of children to double each day. We are all having a blast and working so hard at the same time..
I love everyone! In Him-Meleia

Greetings family,
We are going to the Vally of Angels today to do VBS and part of the group will start a house. We had a nice meal last night at a local restaraunt. We were going to sing at the church, but there was a six foot wide gap in the road so we had to turn around.

Josh- When you come would you bring several jars of medicine for chiggars. I brought one and many people have gotten them and it is the only jar of medicine for that. It would be good to have more here. I went to the guitar mans shop yesterday. Wow! Such beautiful guitars and he plays so well. Dont forget to water my plants and feed the critters.

Love you, Brenda

Hey Em,
I’m sorry you girls lost. That’s really surprising. Sounds like you got beat up pretty good at the game. I’m glad Jim took that kid to court. I hope he has to pay a lot. Well, Monday we had a poverty simulation; it was an experience. I hope I get to tell ou all about it. The family has been here since Wednesday. We fly out next Sunday the 24th. We’ve got a lot accomplished in the past week. Last week I didn’t have a bag to do my laundry til Mom came, so I wore dirty clothes for 5 days. LOL> I hope you’re having a great summer. Thanks for E-mailing me down here; it means a lot to me. We’ve been super busy; today I’m training the new VBS team to leave for Choluteca. They leave tomorrow. Well, if I tried to go into detail this E-mail would be twenty pages long, so I’m gonna let you go. I hope I get to see and talk to you before I leave for Freed. Have an AWESOME time on vacation. I miss ya.

Hi Judy.
Glad to get your note. Everyone is working hard and there is a beautiful spirit among the group. God is good. Hope you, Chad, and Penny are well. I miss you all! Amy, Sarah, and Carly are serving with all their hearts. We went to the orphanage yesterday and did a carnival with the children. They were wonderful. The young men won the soccer match in the afternoon. Chad would have had fun. Our opponents were good and had good sportsmanship. Looking forward to being with you soon. Tell Chad I love him.
Love, Joe

Dear family and Friends,
I was afraid to mention all of your names in fear that I would either leave someone out or run out of room! I just wanted to let you know I am safe and I love it here! We have done so many things from building, to visiting hospitals and orphanges. Tomorrow morning Andrea and I will be going to Choluteca for VBS! We are very excited and a little nervous! It is a 3 hr drive and we will be there for 3 days away from the group! We will be sure to be safe and I will write when we get there! I love you all so much.

Hey everyone! Great trip so far and aobut to get better. We´re heading to Choluteca in the morning and can´t wait. It´s good to be back, as always. We are feeling fine and have all our luggage (Finally!-more on that later!) We´ve reorganized the bodega, gone to the hospital, children´s home, passed out clothing and the heavy work at Santa Ana. We´ll pass out clothing in Choluteca and do our medical clinic. Anna and I are all over the wound care there. Love you all and can´t wait to share all that we´re experiencing.
P.S. Mom-Brett said hooray for hockey! Thanks for the e-mail.

Hola, okay so that´s aobut all the Spanish I know. Doesn´t help much here, but I´m learning, yeah. So we arrived safely as you all know and each of us loving every bit of it. I could definately move here, but do suppose I must return. We´ve done so much it´s hard to write it all but for short--hauling rocks, moving sticks, door knocking in small villages, visits to hospitals, the orphanage, that which was among my favorite, packaging 250 boxes of food, and practicing for VBS. Erika and I will be heading to Choluteca in the a.m. for 3 days. IT´s 3 hrs in some direction. Please pray for our safe journey. It is supposed to be among the greatest experiences we get to do VBS in Spanish, Excited! I don´t speak much Spanish so it should be fun and interesting. Everyone loves us from Memphis. The boys are comedians and so mcu fun and all of us share love and care with all around. We are all growing close to each other and close to the Lord. We´ve definatley been blessed to have come on this trip. I love it here and love that we don´t know what we are going to do from day to day. Thats one to the greatest parts. Well form shout outs: Kaitlyn I miss you and think of you daily. Can´t wait for church camp. Mr. and Mrs Hillis miss you guys, love you. Mom--I got here safetly and love you. See you soon enough. For all the rest I am thinking about you too. I love you and miss you. Please write me back I can recieve e-mail. would love to get it. Well until we meet again, pray for us. Love you all, because of Christ, Andre

Hola Mama, Daddy, B, C and D!
Hello from Honduras! Everything is great here. Tomorrow we´re doing VBS in the Valley of Angels and I´m Eve (Can you imagine that?) I´ve gotten to meet tons of sweet, sweet kids here. THe other day I was playing ¨dog, dog, cat¨ (you might know it as duck duck goose.) and wile running away from a little girl who picked me I wiped out and landed in a huge mud pit! But the kids (and Jenny and Rodolfo) thought it was funny. Hope everything at home is going good. How´s Gandma? Holas to everyone!

Hey guys it´s me finally! Sorry I didn´t write sooner but we´ve been really busy. But yeah, I´m pretty sure there´s only one workd to describe it here-AMAZING! It´s beautiful, not too hott, kina tropical. There´s mango trees everywhere it´s awesome. We´ve done so muc so far. I´ll give you a brief update because it´s like 10:30 pm and I´m passing out (like always). But anyway, upon arriving on Wed. we went to work at a place called Santa Ana and returned the next to work more. We visited a really poor village where we distributed food and clothes. We visited a children´s home where I hung out with little girl all do day and actually talked to her. It was cool. Today we practiced for VBS and ate at this really cool resturant where everyone had a great time. But anyway, write back and tell me everything that´s going on back in the states!
Sara´s probably reading this so Hi Sister! and hello to everyone else! Love you guys and see you on the 26th!

To whom it may concern: What´s up guys? Man I don´t know what to say, Honduras is.....AMAZING. It has to be one of the most beautiful places I´ve ever been. I´ve taken a lot of pictures, but they don´t do the land justice. I´ve made a lot of friends, most of them Honduras orphans and they help to give me strength too. And Mom, everthing is ok and I´m fine, I love you. TO Barbara, I wish you were here to help spread the word of the LORD. I love you so much. I want e-mails from mom and Barbara (it can be as sappy as you wants) so get the word out to them so they can please!

Woodland Hills: I want to thank all of you for the opportunity of this trip. It has truly opened my eyes to what I am commanded to do in this life, and I have seen the face of Jesus everywhere here. Thank you again and please pray for our safety. I love you all.
Laura: I want to tell you, baby that I love you very much and I thank you for your support and prayers. Please call my parents and let them know I am ok, and tell them I love them. Please write me back with a good message that will help me through the rest of this trip. Also, do me a favor and look up a certain music type called Regaton. I have heard it and I love it: and you know how I am when I find something I like. I love you and miss you very much and I annot wait until I see you again I love you, Baby.
P.S. Write me back what my parents say.

Hey guys at Woodland Hills! This trip has been amazing so far. I deffinately think this is a life changin esperience! We are all having a great tiem and cannot wait to tell you all about it. The things I´ve seen have compleatelly changed my perspective on life and have made me realize and appreciate just what all I´ve been blessed with. Andrea keeps making fun of me because I´m upset cause I can´t call you. She make comments like ¨you usually call your mom like 50 times a day. I´m sure you´re going through withdrawls.¨ I am . I miss you so much if I could have 10 minutes to talk to you I think I could make it through the rest of the trip, no complaints. Figure out how to write me back so I can feel a little better. Tell Gabe I miss him and I will hunt him down first thing when I get home. Tell Josh I really miss him and not to worry he´s on my list of people to immediately see! But I miss you the most mommy! Tell Cami and Daddy I miss them too. Take care of my babies (Edgar, Clarence adn Sterling)...tell Josh to give Megan my love also. So Kaitlin, I totally wish you were here buddy! Got you some cute little stuff! You should deffinately respond to me...and oh yeah, Ma, tell the boys to writ me e-mails...or respond to the blog or whatever (boys meaning Josh and Gabe). Daddy...I guess you get this too...if you read it... I really miss you and love you! But anyways I´m out guys! I love you all and can´t wait to see you! Oh and just some reminders...Kaitlin get on those Ben Harper tickets and don´t forget Ang´s Adeipne shirt and buy cameras... and ma don´t forget student loan stuff...it is a much!
Love you

Hey Mom, Dad, Chris, Courtney, Meredith, my church family, Cole teachers, and everyone in between! I miss you all more than words can say. However, I know I am working for the Lord, and I am comforted by that. It is amazing, as usual, down here. God works in amazing ways, and I never cease to be surprised by the twists and turns of every day here in Honduras.
Please continue to pray for all of us here,
Jennifer (Sissy and Noj)

Hey Mom, Dad, and any other person who is reading this. I’m having a wonderful time! On the first day I helped carry blocks from one place to another and helped make a rock wall. Day two I went door knocking and played with some kids. Day three I went to the hospital, and today we went to a children’s home and had a carnival for them. There was this one little girl named Ruth who was basically glued to my arm all day. She was so cute! Then we played soccer and our guys won 8-5. It was awesome; they did so good! I miss you all so much! Don’t be worried; I am having a GREAT time! This is the best place I’ve ever been! Love you lots! Can’t wait to see you and tell you all about my trip! Tomorrow we are going to church and shopping.Love, Randi

Amber Selfe

Hey all! I’m taking a gamble that someone I know will figure out how to get to this website and read this. Anyway, thus far the trip has been alright. It’s rained at least once every day and the mud is rancid and everywhere!
I’ll give a quick overview of what I’ve done so far. I’ve nearly killed myself doing manual labor. (Dad, I promise to train my butt off when I get home!!!) I’ve been attacked by bugs and worked at an orphanage carnival.
Fun, Fun…We have chapel every day. Also, Dad, I have this odd habit of waking up at 5:45 am to 6 am our Tennessee time. Everyday, I swear! So, year, all is well at the Honduras summer camp. Adios!

Jeremy Quillian

Well, the second trip has begun and it has been far from dull and boring. The team got off the plane and headed straight to Santa Ana. We spend three glorious days there. Not really. We will split up on Monday. Some will head to Choluteca bright and early. We played a soccer game today where the Olympic team practices. We won 8-5. Hoss had a scoreless first half and I let in five in half number 2. The poverty simulation was the worst thing in the world. No sleep, freezing my butt off. I couldn’t sleep so I went and played in the embers of the fire. Sparky saw this and got it going again. The night before we stayed in the Marriot beside Camparos. It was awesome.
To Mom and Dad: The weather has been ridiculous. It has rained every day. Including the day and night we stayed at Santa Ana. Yes, I got my walkie talkies and the money from the Wells. We will be getting home late Sunday night (24th).
To the Wests: Thank you for keeping me in your prayers. Things have been a challenge trying to meet new people and make new friends. God bless ya’ll.
To Allison West: I have no idea how long it will take me to get used to your new name. At times when I hear it, it doesn’t register that they are talking about you. Thank you for the E-mail. I won’t forget ZQ’s soccer jersey. Love ya, Sis.
Mr. Pierson: Thank you sir for the kind letter of recommendation. You have been a great encouragement to me. I am very grateful for the model you have been to me. I would like to get together some time before I leave for school to talk.
Mom and Dad: I love ya’ll and miss you. Can’t wait to come home.
P.S. Dad, have you set up a Dr. appointment for my elbow?

Paul Forshey

Love from Amber and me to all of you.
We go to the orphanage today—fun and tears both! Tomorrow, Sunday, at the Valley of Angels. Monday Amber and I go with the team to Choluteca for Monday-Wednesday.
Incredible energy and accomplishments from the whole team. Can’t wait for the Heritage team to come! Keep praying and know our love for you!

Hi, everyone! Today is the first day that it didn´t downpour in the middle of working. Wednesday and Thursday we worked at Santa Ana, building walls and pouring concrete sidewalks. I got completely soaked. Today we packed 250 boxes of food, and then we went to the hospital and visited some kids & some women with cancer. I love you and miss you!

My Dear Family,

Hey everyone! I miss you so much! Hope you are having a great week. I miss you terribly. I think it is because I have no contact with any of you at all. I feel home sick. I have been sick with my normal ´´strep-like´´ throat, stuffy nose, and shortness of breath, and a headache. Can´t wait to see you all! I am excited about Miami! I love you all! )Mom can you bring my summer reading book? We will be leaving for our retreat in the morning, so I don´t know if I will be able to e-mail again. I love you! - Libs

Lanie Barker

Hey everyone in TN and KY! I hope yáll are doing well. Thank you so much for the e'mails, they were great. We are about to eat dinner on Thursday night. We visited the special needs orphanage today as well as the hspital. The weather has been alright, raining some each afternoon, but nothing too bad. It is SO much cooler here now that we´re back in Teguc. It was sweltering in Choluteca. See Bret´s message for the VBS info. It went great! We got to meet Inez and Gracie and others. The food at the Mission House is really tasty. Our hotel in Choluteca was nice too. My stomach was messed up one night, but I´m fine now. Libby has struggled with her regular change in environment )tired voice symptoms), but started the meds we have and seems to be doing better. I miss you guys a lot. Can you call Dr. Tate to make sure he sent that paper? Can´t wait to see you guys. I´ll call you when we land, the flight number info should be on the fridge.
love, Lanie

Everything is going good here just a few more days left. Today I went to the hospital and special needs orphanage. Yesterday I went with the medical team to a remote location in the mountains. Hey Beautiful. Choluteca was great, but very hot. My tummy isn´t doing real great, but I don´t think it´s from the water. Today is our last workday, then we´ll go up to an orphan home and the retreat center tomorrow. I love you and miss you! Have a great day!

Hi Nancy! Sorry this is the first you have heard from us. I wasn´t sure how this worked. Jake and I are great! Loads of storied to tell. It is a beautiful country with a sweet people and children that melt you heart. It is a work that you can throw your body and soul into. The singing and devo's are great! Hola back home,

Sorry this if my 1st e'mail. It´s Thursday morning and this is the 1st time I´ve had an opportunity to sit. We )Lanie, Libby, Jacob, Rachel H., Rachel K., Noelani, Sparky, Derek, Barrett, Lauren, Wendy, and others) just returned last night from Choluteca. What a blessing! 100 kids the first day. 200 kids days two and three. Juan, the preacher there, said the VBS was by far the best their kids have ever experienced. What a joy it was hearing 200 kids saying, ´´Dios tiene un plan para mi!´´ )God has a plan for me.) THere wasn´t a dry eye in the group when we left and as the children surrounded our bus one last time, I stuck me head out the window, pointed to each child, to which they replied with tears in their eyes, ´´Dios tiene un plan!´´ I´m sorry folks, but it just doesn´t get any better than that!

love you,
Bret

Well try callin me on Sat., but I´m not sure if my phone will work where our retreat is at, but try anyways. Everything is Great here ad I don´t want to leave. Jeremy is doing fine. I will talk to you when I get home if not before. Love Allison.

Cindy Sue''' Grandmothers house went up yesterday. it was very nice, with a view that Americans would pay big bucks for. It looked like a holer in West Virgina, with the addition of banana trees. i still don´t know how they put trailers on the side of a cliff, but I now know how to do that with a house. The family was pitiful. We built beside their current house and it looked like forts we use to build as kids, complete with a dirt floor. I miss you ''' hug everyone for me. Love Jim

Mike Hollis

Hey Laine. It´s Wednesday night after supper and we have finished our VBS and Gospel Meeting. We had about 250 kids today and a large adult class. It went very well. I miss you tremendously and count down the days till I get home. Lots of stories to tell. I pray for you and the kids daily. We have two more days of work and then we rest Saturday at the resort. This is my third email and therefore the last one I am allowed. BTW, I showed my pictures to my class yesterday and used you as an illustration. Tell you what later. I love you with all my heart. Hug Josh and Holly for me. Oh I got your 2nd email´´Thank You!!

Chip and Julie Holton

it´s Tuesday night and we had another great day today.Chip and Ben were on one of two construction teams and built a house for a lady. Julie and Emily were both back at VBS. Emily participated in the skits and intertained the children afterwards while the adults had their classes. Julie helped make 200 plus p'butter and jelly sandwiches for VBS and painted fingernails and played puzzles with the children. After Vbs we delivered 100 boxes of food to some very poor familie. These are families that have never been visited before. One man asked us to pray for his daughter. He held her limp in his arms with a high fever, as we all prayed together. Hopefully they will be at the medical clinic we are having tomorrow. The last 3 days have been nice with no rain. Thanks so much for your prayers. Love ya all.

Mike Hollis

Hey hon. I t´s Tuesday night and we have had another wonderful but tiring day. I think about you throughout the day and the things I would like to share with you. I prayed for a little girl today as her father held her limp, fever riddled baody in his arms. He came out to meet us when we brought his family food. I prayed for her and my heart was breaking. All those we passed out food to are truely poor. I hope everything is going well. I miss you terribly. I can´t wait to see you, Lord willing, Sunday night. Alos, the only way you can get in touch with me is through the email on the blogspot. I know that one of your emails are here, but I have not seen it yet.(this will be the first and I cant wait to read it). I love you. Tell the kids and Holly hi. All my love. Mike

Kim Vaughn

There is no way to describe the impact this has had on my life. I can’t wait to see my family and share things with you. Next year, I want us all to come. I hope you are all doing well. I miss you so much it hurts. But, it will hurt to leave this begind. There is som much need here. Thanks for the E-mails. They were so uplifting to me. I was suffering the first couple of days because I missed you so much.
Jacob has gone to a village about 2-3 hours away to work in VBS. I understand that it is where Dan and Rey were a couple of years ago. I hear they are doing great work. See you Sunday! LOVE YOU ALL! Kim—Mom

Ed and Kathy Nicholson

Wow! This is really bigger than anything I can describe. Honduras is so beautiful—and so sad. The children are sooo beautiful and loving. The little bit we are able to do brings them more joy than you can imagine. Ed took off on the early morning construction crew and I’m going to deliver food and help with VBS.
Lauren, Aimee and Britty—we love you. We’ll see you Sunday night.
To our Palmetto family—we love you all and miss you. Mom—thank you for helping make this trip possible—such an awesome experience—love you too!
Ed and Kathy

Lindsay and Andy Wiggins

We made it here safe. Just wanted to tell everybody hello and that if anyone wants to E-mail us they can do it at the blogspot. Andy just left to build houses. Yesterday, he dug a trench at the construction site of the church in the Valley of Angels. I went to VBS and helped with a women’s Bible study in the Valley. Please continue to pray for all of us! Love, Lindsay and Andy

Ben Cooper

Mardee,
Hello from Honduras. I hope you are doing good. I miss you, and Jaxon, and Kaia soo much. Things are going really good. I got sick the first night (go figure), but was 100% the next morning. I am trying to find an opportunity to call you. An unnamed source told me he’d arrange a time, but that has not happened yet. I realllllly want you to try and come next year, even for a short time (if allowed). I want to experience this with you. I hope you are having a fun week off. And I hope you are getting some help with the kiddos. We’ll, poor typing skills and short time force me to say goodbye. I love you, I think about my family 100 times a day. I can’t wait to talk to you soon. Please pray for me, I had a frustrating day and my attitude stinks right now. I love you (again).
Love,
Ben Cooper

Jennifer Arnold

Hey to everyone back home—Mom, Dad, Chris, family, church family, friends, co-workers. I hope this message finds you all safe and content in the Lord, just as I am here in Honduras. I am enjoying my days here doing God’s work. It is amazing to see His hand in everything we do here. And just in case you were wondering…they have poison ivy in Honduras. My ankles can attest to this. Other than that, life is grand. Love ya, Jennifer Michelle

Chip and Julia Holton

Hola!! Very busy Sunday. Didn’t get back until 10:30 pm. Went door knocking for our VBS in Valle de Angeles, put together personal hygiene bags at the bodega, supper at the Santa Lucia Hotel and incredible singing by 170 people at the church in Santa Lucia built in 1533. Christopher Columbus went to church there. Monday 1st day of VBS by app. 130 children and 30 adults. Other groups worked at new church building in Valle de Angeles and others put together 200 boxes of food to hand out. We get up at 5:30 and go to bed around 1:00 am. Long days. But it’s all good! Let us hear from you. Love you all!

Hola! from Honduras. ?Como estas? The bus rides have actually gotten to be fun. It is an awesome experience. The children touch my heart—they are so precious. So far we have—visited the hospital, gone door knocking in the village, started conducting VBS in the plaza of Valley of the Angels. Miss you! Love, Mom

Penny and I arrived, are healthy, and safe. Cindy—I’m not sure you could handle the bus rides—kinda like breathing diesel fumes on a rollercoaster. Cindy—wait until you see my clothes from working in a mud hole, ahem, construction site. Yesterday, we went door knocking for VBS and I loved it. This trip is not what I expected. I have seen the poor of Central Mexico, but I have never been this close. I’m still positive, but it isn’t as hard as I expected. Let everyone know we are ok. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. Please continue to keep this work in your prayers.

Hey there! I hope you guys are having fun. We are all doing great. The mission house where we are staying is really nice and the food is great. We moved some 150 or so concrete blocks to an area where a new children’s home will be built as soon as we got off the plane.
Saturday we worked on VBS skits and then visited the kids at the hospital. My cell phone has service, but I don’t know how much it will cost. You can maybe check and see and then try calling me on it if you want. Lib’s doing great. It is surprisingly breezy and somewhat cool here. Bret says hello. Tell Wade hi too! We love you guys and miss you. Lanie

Hey Mom, Hey dad! I hope you are having fun at home by yourselves! Tell Lauren I said hey and to have fun with Becca and Nathan. I don’t think I’ll be able to call, so I’ll try to E-mail you again later.
So far the trip has been incredible. We have already carried blocks, worked for the VBS, and been to a hospital. I love the mission house and the food. It’s completely different than Baxter. Speaking of, I saw Steve and Jeannie when we left the airport. I really enjoy getting to see everyone from last time and hanging out with everyone from church!
I will tell you more details when I get home because there’s too much to tell even on the 3rd day! But I’m having a blast serving the Lord! Have fun, love ya! In Him, Rachel. P.S. don’t be too crazy while I’m gone!

Hey guys! And my sweet girl. Jake and I are great. There is so much here that I wish you all could experience. As for our accommodations, it’s very nice and comfortable and the food is good. I miss clean safe water, though! Today we are DOOR KNOCKING so we will actually have interaction with the Hondurans. Jacob already went to the hospital and of course, made a buddy. I can’t wait. Write us! We love you so much. Kim-Mom

Hi Hannah! We’re safely here and already working hard. Yesterday we practiced skits for VBS this week. Then we went to the hospital. That was really sad because we saw so many really sick children. But we were able to pray for them and encourage their families that were there with them. Hopefully, we’ll be able to go back and give them Bibles later this week. Some asked for one and we didn’t have any with us. That was frustrating. One little girl kept coming back for more toys, and then we noticed that she was getting them to give to the kids who couldn’t get out of bed. Wasn’t that sweet? I hope you’re doing well and enjoying yourself. Miss you and love you! Hello to Miss Virginia and Kimberly. Keep praying for us and for the Hondurans we meet. Love, Mom

Hey guys! Safe and sound. Ben said the airplane landing was the best he’d ever seen. I really miss you but they’ve kept us really busy. As soon as we stepped out of customs we went to a work site. I will be able to E-mail you 3 times but you can E-mail me as much as you want. Go to the blogspot and there should be a link called “E-mail TORCH members”. I’ve seen a lot of beautiful stuff. I’m always saying, “I wish _____ was here.” Dad, there’s a beautiful lookout where you can see lots of mountains and hear squirrels and birds. Ok, got to go. E-mail me a lot! Like when you get to 8-4! I love you so much. Love, Kailey

Hey Laine. I’ve been thinking and praying for you! I’m sorry I didn’t get to send this the first day. We get only three E-mails for the trip and limited time to write. I miss you terribly and wish you were here. I’m a little tired but feeling good. You can write me back and they print out the E-mails for us. I love you and can’t wait to see you. Hope everything is going well. Pray for me. Tell the kids and Holly hi. Love you, Mike

Landing in Honduras was a whole new adventure in flying! You’d be so proud of me! We’ve been working in the warehouse, sorting medications for distribution. Rainy and muddy, but a beautiful country. Miss you and thinking of you everyday! Love you much! J

The landing in Teguc was tense but the bus ride was better than anything at Cariowinds. Worked Sat. in the rain and mud. Please pray the rain stops. Having a great time. Love you.

Everything is going well. Pray the rain will stop. I miss you and love you lots!
